Generally you will not be required to enter referral details because there has not been a referral. On the drop-down list for Ref. Type, select one of the bottom five options for not providing referral details (Lost, Emergency, Hospital, Not Required, Remote Exemption).
If there has been a referral, it is recommended that you complete the details. Please see below in the Allied Health section for information.
For out of hospital treatment, you will need to complete the following referral details:
- On the drop-down list for Ref. Type, select one of the top three options (Standard, Non-Standard, Indefinite).
- Enter the Issue Date and Valid From date in any format. The software will auto-calculate the referral Period and display as a number of months.
- Select a referring doctor from the Referred By drop-down list.
