Medical providers* can register with Medicare for the '90 Day Pay Doctor Cheque Scheme'. Once registered, Medicare will automatically cancel 'Pay Doctor' cheques if they are not presented after 90 days, and pay benefits directly into your nominated account. This is useful when the patient has received the Medicare cheque and hasn't forwarded it to you.
To participate in this Scheme, you must complete the application form and return it to Medicare Australia either by facsimile (08) 8274 9307 or to GPO Box 570, Adelaide SA 5001.
